Lots going on right now, so just a quick share of a couple cards I completed yesterday. They were inspired by a couple challenges at the Shaker Box.
This was for the Creative Card challenge; to dig into your old sticker stash and use them up. I brushed pigment powder on the sticky side of the clear "love" sticker to give it some pop and shimmer.
This was for the Inspire Me Thursday challenge. The challenge was to make up your own personalized accents. I used up some old scrap papers by weaving them together and placing the remains of a chipboard heart over it.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I Can't Believe It!
It's official! DS was just registered today for Kindergarten! I can't believe that in a few short months he will finally be starting school. Now DH is freaking out because it's official. LOL. Be back when things calm down around here!
Enjoy your mid-week!

Post-Mother's Day
What an exhausting weekend! No mother's day celebration here or even a break from my normal days, but it was still a good time with family and friends for the weekend.
On mother's day we eventually went out and did some shopping that needed to be done. While we were out, I think I could have asked for anything and DH wouldn't have blinked. He even put up with me wanting to at least browse some scrapbook stuff without any groaning or complaints.
Nothing caught my eye, except for one thing:
The Fiskars fingertip craft knife -- It's a $4 present, but I love it! As soon as we got home I tried it out and the control was great. I don't usually have a steady hand when I'm using a craft knife, but this one left me confident with my cuts. If you're looking at getting or replacing your craft knife, I recommend picking this one up. It's worth every penny.
Here's a quick share of a present that arrived at my door from the kids (and DH):
If you ever want to give a cute, cuddly present that lasts . . . Vermont teddy bears are a great choice. They even come with lifetime guarantees. I love all of mine!
Have a happy Monday!

Weekend Greetings
Yesterday and today are crazy days of errands plus prepping for guests coming over tomorrow. So nothing artsy or crafty for me until this weekend is over.
Wishing all the mothers out there a very Happy Mother's Day!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Updating with Doodles
In an effort to continue my goal of not purchasing any more scrapbook products until most of my current stash is gone, I have been coming across many old kits that I never bothered touching. Most of those kits are no longer my style or just look old and out of date. Today I found a post from Daring Cardmakers that inspired me to revamp one of those old kits.
The kit I used only had 2 white cs, 1 bluish cs, and a sheet full of die-cuts. I doodled like crazy on the die cuts and some of the cs. These are what I came up with:

I'm so happy with how it turned out, I think I may be using it on more of my old kits.
Thanks for looking!

Technique Tuesday
Every Tuesday a different technique challenge is given at the Shaker Box. This week is about making gate fold cards, inspired by the tutorial at Split Coast Stampers. It has been hard finding time for myself lately, so I took a moment this morning and made a gate fold card.
The faux brads on the bottom right was a stamping mess up that I hole-punched; ran through a xyron; inked up; and then covered with liquid embossing. Thanks for looking!

NSD Crop
It's that time of year where there seems to be crops and prizes all around! The Shaker Box is having a National Scrapbooking Day crop from today until the end of Sunday. Lots of great challenges have already been posted and it looks like there'll be some great prizes as well. Head on over for some scrappy fun!
